Jean Smith, internationally acclaimed dog trainer, focuses on dog training fundamentals detailing each dog obedience step. She has condensed thirty years of dog training experience onto two instructional DVDs -- accompanied illustrated workbooks. Pages of training tips with solutions to behavior problems can be found on the website. She has helped hundreds of people train their own dogs with her home study course. 

"Over the last 30 years I have developed a dog training program that is effective for beginners. 
My main goal is to show you how you can enhanse your dog's natural talents and control his weaknesses. Just like humans, each dog is unique, and I developed the BASIC COURSE dog training video DVD course with this in mind."

My purpose in creating this dog training program is to share my knowlege using techniques and strategies to gain the dog's trust. Once that trust is established through obedience training the partnership is created with YOU as the leader of the pack....this is what your dog wants! 

In 1988, while at a dog event, Jean was explaining how to train a very hyper dog. That person  was so impressed that she suggested Jean make a video. Two years later Jean's Vet referred several of his clients for help training their dogs. One wanted a good hunting dog, another how to extend training in the field, and another what training exercises were needed to prepare for field trials. All agreed to be participants in making a video. It was particularly good because the dogs were at the right age (under a year). For the next 15 months the photographer was able to capture the mistakes and how the lessons corrected them. Last year one of the participants, Theresa Newell, became the new owner of the Teach Me Please Corporation.

Jean competed in field trials for retrievers during the 1970s, turning professional in the early 1980s.

After completing the field training tape Jean marketed both DVD courses (BASIC & FIELD) with huge success.

For 15 years she has successfully marketed this do-it-yourself program on the internet, sport shows, and fairs across the country.
